Why taking action creates success- “The path to success is to take massive, determined action.”

Successful people are outstanding performers.  Outstanding performers set high goals and then do whatever it takes to achieve them.  Action is the key to achieving your goals.  Action leads to success.  It is the antidote to fear.  It keeps you moving in a positive direction.  If you want to succeed, you need to take positive determined action on a consistent basis.   Action is the key to outstanding performance, and outstanding performance is one of the keys to personal and professional growth. As I said at the beginning of this post, I am a believer in synchronicity.  Lately, I’ve been getting lots of input urging me to take action – to do things I don’t want to do, to do things that will make me feel good, to do things that are risky and to do things quickly.  I am following this advice.  I urge you to so too if you want to become an outstanding performer.

The Importance of Taking Action and How It Creates Success

Today's Life Changing Thought is: learn to seize opportunities, learn to say YES instead of LATER.

People will justify their inaction in their own mind. They'll say things like 'it's the weekend, it can wait until Monday' or 'I'll get to it later' or 'I'm too busy right now' but in truth it's self-sabotage and it stops them from being the LUCKY one and they miss yet another opportunity. They'll ask themselves why they aren't moving forward, why they don't get the breaks, or why opportunities pass them by or just don't show up. They blame the universe, but in reality it's their own limiting behavior. It's never about being LUCKY. It's about taking action. When you learn to say YES instead of LATER, everything changes.

Today's inspiration!!!

Get Motivated By Learning the Importance of Taking Action

There’s an enduring axiom of success that says,“The Universe rewards action, not thought.” Yet as simple as this principle seems, it’s surprising how many people get bogged down in the analyzing, planning and organizing stages when what they really need to do is to simply take action.

“What we think or what we know or what we believe is, in the end, of little consequence. The only consequence is what we do.” – John Ruskin

When you take action, not only do additional resources come your way, but you get feedback that helps you adjust your course and refine your approach.

THE “DO SOMETHING” PRINCIPLE

Action isn’t just the effect of motivation, but also the cause of it.

Most people only commit to action if they feel a certain level of motivation. And they only feel motivation when they feel an emotional inspiration.

People only become motivated to study for the exam when they’re afraid of the consequences. People only pick up and learn that instrument when they feel inspired by the people they can play for.

And we’ve all slacked off for lack of motivation before. Especially in times where we shouldn’t.  We feel lethargic and apathetic towards a certain goal that we’ve set for ourselves because we lack the motivation and we lack the motivation because we don’t feel any overarching emotional desire to accomplish something.

Emotional Inspiration → Motivation → Desirable Action

But there’s a problem with operating under this framework: often the changes and actions we most need in our lives are inspired by negative emotions which simultaneously hinder us from taking action. If someone wants to fix their relationship with their mother, the emotions of the situation (hurt, resentment, avoidance) completely go against the necessary action to fix it (confrontation, honesty, communication). If someone wants to lose weight but experiences massive amounts of shame about their body, then the act of going to the gym is apt to inspire in them the exact emotions that kept them at home on the couch in the first place. Past traumas, negative expectations, and feelings of guilt, shame and fear often motivate us away from the actions necessary to overcome those very traumas, negative expectations, and negative emotions

Just having confidence in yourself can go a long way in spurring you into action. Stay away from pessimistic people and think positive. Talk to close friends and acquaintances about your goals. You may feel that it's a foolish thing to do, but the fact is that the more people you talk to about your ambitions, the more committed you will be to those ambitions. Keep some scope to reassess your goals along the way, alter them if you have to- be flexible- that is the best way to take action and achieve your goals!! Thanks for reading..
